I've been a bit more casual lately, opting for cozy sweaters and some sort of a pant and a flat shoe. This is the sweater I was wearing in the previous post about my instagramin'! I la-la-love it! I'd buy J.Crew's entire stock if I could. Everything's so simple, and yet just enough of a differential to keep it looking like the same ol'.

Cooler air is blowin' in and I'm enjoying every breeze!

A Day in the Life

This past weekend I went to the theater to see Rain, a Broadway show that's currently touring the US. It's a probably the closest Beatles experience I will ever get since I do not have access to a time machine, and it was pretty darn awesome.

This is what I wore:

Afterwards I went for lunch and found the best french fries ever! I was totally enamored by it that the thought of photographing it escaped me. You'll have to take my word for it, and if you're ever in Ft. Lauderdale, go to Big City Tavern and order fries!

Fall in Florida

So I can't wear my plaid jackets, corduroy pants, and booties quite yet. But I'm definitely not going to be walking around in sundresses and strappy sandals! So this is my wardrobe's compromise with the tropical climate I live in:

On this day, I had brought my camera with me to take pictures for the blog... without the SD card! UGH, am I the only one who forgets these things? It's quite the tragedy pulling up to an awesome location to take pictures, only to notice "No Memory Card" tauntingly blinking before your eyes.

Experiments in Hair

So last night I decided to play around with my hair. I had washed it and going to bed with a wet head seemed like the perfect opportunity to contort it into curls. I do have naturally curly hair, but I wanted to see if by putting tiny buns all over my head would have a different effect.

I present to you, me this morning freshly awoken with my morning coffee and...

a bun filled head!

Starting to remove the bobby pins:

Sidenote: the scarf around my neck is what I wrapped my hair in so I could sleep without frizzing up the buns.

When you take down the buns, make sure to whip your hair back and forth a la Willow Smith, and pull apart the bun curls.

Et, voila! Curly hair, a bit different than when I let it do it's thing naturally. Seems like it was pulled down a bit so it looks lengthened. I dig!

Here are the product I swear by:

Usually I wash my hair, put on the Moroccan Oil Curl Cream, followed by a tiny dollop of Carol's Daughter Hair Milk Lite, and let it air dry.

For this experiment, I did the same but added hair spray at the end.

I feel much more natural when there's no one around to see this process, I'm trying to get better at taking pictures in the middle of a crowd but there's something about a DSLR in a restaurant or sidewalk that is intimidating for me. I like to find quiet corners and deserted spots for my blog's photos... and if I'm taking my own pictures, even better!
Am I alone in feeling this, or are you with me?

It's really weird how after not blogging for a while I end up feeling really guilty, and then my guilt keeps me from logging on to update. It's a vicious cycle that I must break.

Anyway, this outfit is super cute and amazingly affordable. I beg that you look at the brands I'm wearing, I amaze myself sometimes.

Has everyone started their summer vacations yet?
Mine begun a while ago, and it's been pretty fun thus far. I found free surf lessons at a nearby beach and went to a lesson a couple weeks ago, I'm going back this week and I'm taking a disposable waterproof camera. It's so much fun, and I'm pretty good at balancing on the board! Who knew I had a little surfer in me? Ha! I'll definitely post the pictures from my coming lesson.

Posts are gonna come more frequently now, fyi!

If you've been following my tweets, you'll know that I had been waiting for my
"Home Try-On" package to arrive from Warby Parker. They make really cute glasses that cost only $95 (including the UV antiglare lenses! What? Yes!)and to top off the madness, for every pair they sell they donate a pair!

So I picked the 5 frames I wanted to try on and well, I tried them on! Here's the issue though, I can't decide! So I'm asking for your help. I beg thee on my knees, which do you prefer?

Hello Spring!

I bought this romper last year in the fall and hadn't had a chance to wear it, now that the heat is back with a vengeance and I had to take it out of my closet.

I watched "Mystery Train" last night, and really liked it. It's three short films that are connected in time, location, and some characters. It started off with a young Japanese couple that were visiting the US, specifically Memphis to see Graceland. Definitely my favorite of the three story lines! The girl's style was so cute, and when her boyfriend suggested that she gets rid of some shirts to make room in the suitcase... her reaction was brilliant.

I'd suggest giving the movie a try, though it may not be for everyone.

Hey guys!

I'm alive. It feels like an eternity, but I'm back. Well not completely back because my laptop isn't cooperating with me (it's not letting me import pictures from my camera - ugh). But I had to stop by and update at least verbally.

I've been in the middle of moving, so it's been a bit hectic between college and packing & unpacking. My new room has about half the closet space of my old house, so I've gotten rid of so much stuff. I'm going mad! Once I'm situated, I'll have a post about my closet... this is called Closet Stash, after all!

Hopefully by this week I'll be able to figure out an alternative for importing my pictures.

Whoa, so this has been a blog vacation. Ugh, so much to do with it being the end of the semester in college. Final exams, papers, and group projects galore! I still have a paper and an essay that's due next week, but I was finally able to get some time down for Closet Stash. So here are the goodies:

Living in the only tropical state of the continental USA isn't really conducive for fall and winter trends, and the shearling phenomenon of the moment is a unrealistic thing for a floridian girl... that is, until my eyes met a lightweight shearling-like vest at Zara! I find that my fall/winter outerwear mostly consists of vests during the daytime, at night it's cool enough for a jacket... and that's me pushing it.

The day has come, I've turned 21! With it being a Tuesday, I just went out with my dad for some fondue. The real celebration is to come soon...

Off we went to eat fondue! I highly suggest going to the Melting Pot if you have one around your area.

Meet Mr. Mushroom Snowman, I'm sad to report he was later eaten.

The night ended with a blow of the candle, and wish-making. Here's to another year!
